Braunwald - Glattalp

A fantastic two-day tour – for big and small, young and old, individuals, couples and families alike.

This enjoyable round trip begins with a journey by postal bus to Urnerboden. At the border between the two cantons the mainly flat mountain path, which is lined with colourful alpine flowers (e.g. tiger lilies), will take you to Braunwald, the car-free holiday resort in Glarnerland. From Braunwald you now continue upwards through woods and across meadows towards Glattalpsee. This region is only recommended in summer, since the Glattalp is the coldest point in Switzerland at which temperatures have been measured. You can stay the night in the Glattalp mountain hut, which was built in 1896 and belongs to the SAC (Swiss Alpine Club).

Leaving the hut on the second day, make your way to Ruossalp and across the Ruossalper Chulm back to the Schächental, finally arriving back at the Hotel and Restaurant Klausenpass, where a warm welcome awaits you...
